my biggest problem when merging music collections is the Duplicates. my library is usually pretty clean but I've come across some that are filled with 3+ copies of bad versions of the same song.
Duplicate cleaner is great at looking for copies of the same song. It can look at IDv3 tags to determine duplicates, illuminating the ones that you could not find because they were labeled as being in different albums. or you can search by duplicate content, file name, size, date...

SharePod
let me give you a scenario you have an iPhone, or iPod that has a bunch of music on it, the problem is you don't have a backup of that music - downloaded/deleted file or copied from a friend computer. Anyways this will allow you to copy everything from your ipod to your computer.
Some of you who have tried this before are groaning because you know that the way apple moves files from itunes to an idevice includes renaming the file to RM5DF.mp3. Well guess what? SharePod automatically looks at the IDv3 tags of the mp3 file and renames it to (user specified but default of) "Artist - Title.mp3"
