my biggest problem when merging music collections is the Duplicates. my library is usually pretty clean but I've come across some that are filled with 3+ copies of bad versions of the same song.
Duplicate cleaner is great at looking for copies of the same song. It can look at IDv3 tags to determine duplicates, illuminating the ones that you could not find because they were labeled as being in different albums. or you can search by duplicate content, file name, size, date...

SharePod
let me give you a scenario you have an iPhone, or iPod that has a bunch of music on it, the problem is you don't have a backup of that music - downloaded/deleted file or copied from a friend computer. Anyways this will allow you to copy everything from your ipod to your computer.
Some of you who have tried this before are groaning because you know that the way apple moves files from itunes to an idevice includes renaming the file to RM5DF.mp3. Well guess what? SharePod automatically looks at the IDv3 tags of the mp3 file and renames it to (user specified but default of) "Artist - Title.mp3"

Search Everywhere
Search everywhere is a powerhouse tool. It allows you to type in anything and it will search EVERYWHERE and list it all out right there in its window. basically if you remember what you named a file, but can't remember where you saved it, type in the file name and (probably) before you are done typing it will be showing you the file you are looking for.
Warning - this will make you forever loathe Windows Search... Just saying, if for anyreason you liked it before you will hate it now. But, on the flip side, if you already aren't a fan of their search, Search Everything is probably right up your alley.

Launchy
Launchy is simply a program that allows you to use a shortcut (defaults to Alt+Space) and it brings up a window that you type in a program and you instantly open it. no searching for the link on your desktop, navigating the start menu, or pinning apps to your taskbar
However Win7's windows key then type-to-search function works well too so the 26Mb of ram being allocated to Launchy at all times may not be the most useful app.

Trillian
the all-inclusive IM application has been found, I've tried the others, but Trillian has features that make it stand out as the best. the biggest win? its docking auto-hide. I'm able to have instant access to all my contacts just by putting my mouse on the far right side of my screen. "how do you find a contact?" you may ask - well at first it was difficult looking through all my MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, IRC, Jabber, bonjour, SchedulerVZ, VZ, AIM, Skype, Google, Facebook, twitter, Myspace, LinkedIn, annnd Foresquare contacts. But, if you click on the contact window and just start typing it searches for contacts that contain what you type, making finding a contact easy.
I wont really get into skinning Trillian because I find it to mainly be a waste of time Finding the EXACT one you want (and still being able to see everyone's messages). But there is one awesome feature for those of us who run many conversations at the same time... VERTICAL TABS!

Power ISO
Power ISO is an all-in-one ISO program. It is able to read/burn/pack ISOs. but the functionality that I find most useful is the virtual drive. I know Deamon tools may be more professional, I think I can do anything Deamon tools can do with the virtual drive on Power ISO (23 drives and easy mounting is simple and fast)

Multiple Monitor Tools
UltraMon is a program that allows extra features with a second (or third or up to 10th) monitor. such as a task bar across the bottom, with each screen's programs shown on that start bar. it also has other nice features like spanning one window across all monitors, Spanning a single desktop image or multiple images, even mirroring only a specified application on the secondary monitor.

AquaSnap allows you to have the snap features that are in Windows 7 Plus a few others
such as the option to snap to the bottom or top half of your window, or to the sides of interior screens (on a multiple screen setup), or even into quadrants on the screen.

KatMouse
Katmouse is a program that allows you to scroll whatever is under the mouse (without losing focus of another window) so if you are copying information you can just scroll down with the mouse and continue typing with the keyboard...
I know it doesn't sound like an all time must have, but since it only uses 6.5Mb of ram, I'll allow it
